Most of us were taught that anger isn't for us. Too much, unladylike, something to swallow. So it goes underground, or turns into sadness, exhaustion, or resentment.

This month we're getting to know our anger a little better. We don't have to fear it, celebrate it, or obey it. We can notice it, listen to what it's telling us, and choose what to do with it. And we'll sit with a question: what if our anger is reminding us of something we're no longer willing to abandon in ourselves?

Have you ever noticed that when you're overwhelmed, even the smallest thing can suddenly feel impossible?

A text you haven't answered. One more form to fill out. Someone asking what's for dinner. A decision that normally wouldn't be a big deal.

And sometimes the strangest part is that from the outside, you may still look completely fine. You're getting things done. You're showing up. You're keeping track of everyone and everything. But inside, it can feel like there are 47 tabs open in your brain and one more thing might send you over the edge. 

At our next Brave Hearts Club gathering, we're going to explore overwhelm. Not how to become more productive or organized. Not how to fit more into an already full life.

We're more interested in what happens underneath it. Why does overwhelm make some things feel so much harder than they normally would? What happens when we keep pushing through instead of listening to the signals telling us that something is too much? And perhaps the bigger question: What if overwhelm isn't a personal failure, but information?

As always, there is nothing you need to prepare and no right answer to find. Just come as you are.

If you get really quiet and allow yourself to dream, what is the thing that you want more than anything? 

Maybe there's something that tugs on your heart that you're scared to pursue or share with others - a dream, a hope, a relationship, or a way of being. Maybe it has been with you for years, or maybe it's only recently begun to emerge. Or perhaps it's simply a quiet pull that's difficult to name. 

When your longings surface, perhaps you push them away. They feel too big, too scary, too impractical, too embarrassing, too tender. Instead, you keep doing what you think you should do to keep your life on track. 

But what if we turned towards our longings instead of away from them? What if, instead of pushing them aside, we became curious about what they might be trying to tell us? Perhaps our longings have something to teach us. Perhaps they can serve as a gentle compass, inviting us to explore what matters most and what it means to live more fully into ourselves. 

Join us this month as we gently explore wanting, longing, and the wisdom they may hold. Together, we'll create space for reflection, honest conversation, and curiosity, without needing to have all the answers.

Sensations are how our bodies detect events in the environment. Sensuality is about being present enough to notice and engage with life through those sensations. By noticing, we can delight in our senses and open the door to greater body awareness and embodiment. This is how we access self-sovereignty - living from a place of inner knowing, strength, and authenticity. The signals our bodies send can connect us to this inner knowing in a way that our minds simply can't. 

Sensuality connects us to our intuition. It tells us what we need. It brings us home to ourselves. But we must be quiet and curious enough to connect with and notice the sensations in our bodies.

As women, we are flooded with messages about beauty from the moment we come into the world - from our parents, family, friends, and the media. It’s in the water we swim in. We learn either directly or indirectly that beauty holds power.

That power can be encouraged or dampened, embraced or feared.

Some of us are externally focused, thinking constantly of what others think of us and how we are being perceived. Some of us avoid the mirror to prove that we aren’t vain or that our looks are unimportant. Some of us are afraid our bodies will attract the wrong kind of attention. Some of us feel unseen for our nonphysical gifts. Some of us are terrified of aging because we will lose the power we’ve held. Some of us know we’re beautiful and stand tall as we navigate the world.

No matter how it looks for you, we all have stories, beliefs, and behaviors that can be traced back to the way our bodies look and the messages we received about our right to take up space in the world.

Many of us are the ones who notice, initiate, repair, and carry our relationships. But what happens when the energy we give isn’t returned? This month we’ll explore the cyclical nature of imbalance in friendships, partnerships, and family relationships– the resentment it can create, the fear of naming it, and how we can reclaim our energy when the scales of connection feel off. This will be a conversation about reciprocity, expectations, and the courage to choose a different approach.

Being in relationship with others is HARD - let's talk about it.

As a community, we will be checking in ourselves: how have we been functioning during this time of chaos in our state, nation, and world? What familiar patterns have we been relying on to get through? We will practice truth-telling without judgment or guilt to bring awareness to how we have been coping. Holding that awareness, we will provide a safe space to practice ways to move from stuckness to presence, rooted in community and connection. This moment in time is not one and done - this is our new reality and we are tasked with adjusting to it, as hard as that sounds. Our healing, regulation, and wholeness will allow us to create a better world, all of which requires our presence and intentionality.

This month’s theme is: Reflecting on and Celebrating 1 Year of BHC! This meeting will mark ONE YEAR of Brave Hearts Club and we want to celebrate in the best way we know how - with some introspection, reflection, connection, and of course, FUN. We are so grateful for all of you and the community we are building together and want to hold space to celebrate all of the ways we have grown, both big and small in 2025. This meeting falls smack in the middle of the holiday season and is not meant to be one more thing on your list: our time together will be a welcomed reprieve from the busyness of the season and we will slow down and thoughtfully consider how to create more joy and ease this time of year. We will incorporate some silliness and play while we set intentions on what energy we want to cultivate for ourselves in the new year.

Throughout modern history, we've been individually and collectively fractured, banishing parts of ourselves that have been deemed 'weak' or 'too soft'. As a result, we are out of balance, which we can so clearly see through current world leaders, widespread burnout, late stage capitalism, destroying the planet - the list goes on. Instead of continuing to deny and suppress parts of ourselves that we don't want to look at, we must approach these parts with curiosity with the goal of integrating them into wholeness and charting a new path forward. 

It is time for a rearranging. 

A remembering. 

A reclaiming.

This will be the second in a series of meetings investigating how living in a patriarchal society has impacted us on an individual and collective level. Our first meeting focused on bringing our awareness to how all of the subtle (and not-so-subtle) messages of our society have shaped our choices and actions. In our second meeting, the goal is to shift from identifying patterns and messages into action. Now that we are starting to make the unconscious conscious, what do we do next? By no fault of our own, we are conditioned, indoctrinated, and molded to fit into our communities. It’s survival. It’s subconscious. And the job of our subconscious is to keep us safe.

That’s both helpful and hugely problematic.

Telling yourself the truth is where you begin.

Telling yourself the truth and integrating what comes up (there are many ways to do this) is the threshold you walk through to heal, transform, and step into the life that is most aligned and joyful for you.

Your truth will never steer you wrong, but it takes practice to really hear it.
